I had the pleasure to record a video call with the lovely Pelpina Trip. She asked me for some practical email marketing tips. So I gave them! We discussed how to make sure people click through on your emails, reaching your target audiences with newsletters and saving time while email marketing. Enjoy!
Tip 1: Call to Action
The most effective emails clearly direct the recipient towards the action you expect from them. So before you send out an email make sure you have a clear view of what you want them to do. Do you want them to go to your website, to buy your products to read or interact with your content? Make sure it is in your face and even better, in their face. So the structure of your email is pointing toward that action. And I add a little trick to see if you are doing it right.
Tip 2: Segment your newsletter
Segmentation has been at the top of the email marketing bucketlist for years now, but it is still on the list! It doesn’t have to be that hard though. You need data to segment your newsletters and direct sales emails, but it is surely worth it. Your email marketing becomes more effective, you earn more money and even your email marketing ROI increases. In the video I explain how you can form different segments.
Tip 3: Time saving email marketing tips
By organizing your e-mailmarketing well, you can save a lot of time. Some examples of email marketing timesavers are:
- Automating the flow of your email data;
- Using email templates;
- And especially… make sure that managers don’t get in the way.
